Claire's Charm Bracelet Recall

On May 10, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Claire's Boutiques Inc. announced a safety recall of approximately 19,000 "Best Friends" charm bracelet sets. The charm bracelets have heart lock charms that were found to contain high levels of cadmium. If ingested by children, cadmium is toxic and can cause adverse health effects.

The recall affects the "Best Friends" three bracelet sets with silver-colored chains and pendants with the words "Best," "Friends," or "Forever" and multi-colored jewel stones on them. The bracelet sets were sold in Claire's stores nationwide from February 2009 through January 2010 for $12.

Consumers are advised to take the bracelets away from children immediately and remove the heart lock charms. The bracelets can be returned to Claire's stores for a refund or replacement product. The company can be contacted at 866-859-9281.
