Giraffe Blanket Recall

On May 18, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Rashti & Rashti, of New York, N.Y., announced a safety recall of 44,000 Giraffe Security Blankets, sold exclusively in Target stores. The security blankets were found to pose a choking hazard if the balls on the top of the giraffe's horns detach from the toy.

The recall affects the pink "I Love You" security blanket, measuring 14 inches wide by 14 inches and length with a giraffe plush head on top. A label on the blanket shows style number Y22230H and "Just One Year a division of Carter's."

Consumers are urged to take the blankets away from children immediately and contact the company online or at 888-594-3730 to receive a full refund. The security blankets were sold in Target stores from January 2009 through August 2009 for about $9.
