On April 15, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Le Hing Inc. of California announced a voluntary recall of approximately 200 baby walkers due to a problem with the walkers being able to fit through a standard doorway. The walkers weren't designed to stop at the edge of a step, and babies who are put in these walkers can be seriously injured or even killed if they fall down stairs while in the walker.
The recall affects all Le Hing baby walkers intended for children 6 months of age and older. The walkers are pink or blue and have a white tray, with item number L-0809EN printed on the box. The walkers were sold in discount stores and independent retailers in Arizona and California from June 2009 through August 2009.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled walkers immediately and return them for a full refund. The company can be contacted at 626-575-8566.
