On May 26, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Skywalker Holdings, LLC, announced a voluntary recall of approximately 60,000 square trampolines due to an enclosure hazard. The straps holding the top of the enclosure to the side poles can fail, allowing the enclosure to drop if the straps break and causing a user to fall from the trampoline.
The recall affects the Skywalker Holdings 13-foot Square Trampoline and Enclosure Combo with blue spring pads, black net enclosure, and jumping mat. A label under the jumping mat and on the net says “Skywalker Holdings.”
At least 250 incidences involving strap breakage have been reported to the company so far. The defective trampolines were sold at specialty stores and major retailers nationwide and online from January 2007 through February 2009.
Customers are advised to stop using the recalled trampolines immediately and contact the company at 866-603-5867 to receive a free repair kit.
