Stow and Go Grill Recall

On April 13, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Eastwind Industries Inc. announced a voluntary recall of approximately 4,600 Kuuma IR Stow and Go Grills, after the company discovered that the fuel container may not be completely threaded on the regulator during owner installation. The propane tanks can leak fuel and pose a fire hazard to consumers.

So far, Eastwind Industries has received three reports of fires occurring due to leaking propane tanks, with some reports of minor burns to the hands.

The recall affects all Kuuma IR Stow and Go barbeque grills with model number 83726 printed on the packaging's barcode label. The grills are stainless steel and were sold in West Marine stores nationwide from January 2009 through August 2009.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled grills and contact Eastwind for a new owner's manual with revised instructions for proper installation, as well as a new tool to use for maintenance and cleaning of the fuel system.

Eastwind Industries can be contacted at 866-995-8862.
