Wood Burning Stove Recall

On April 22, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Jotul AS of Norway, announced a voluntary recall of approximately 200 SCAN Andersen 10 Wood Burning Stoves, citing a potential for the stove’s door to dislodge and fall from the hinges and cause injury to users.

The recall affects all SCAN Andersen 10 wood burning stoves with serial numbers 7951 through 8267 printed on the label on the rear panel of the stove. The stoves are freestanding, black cast iron, with a front door and a glass viewing pane.

The wood burning stoves were sold in the U.S. and Canada from March 2009 through February 2010. Consumers who purchased the wood burning stoves are advised to contact their dealer for a hinge replacement kit and a free installation by a professional. The company can be reached at 800-797-5912 or online.
