2010 Acura ZDX Recall for Possible Airbag Problems

On April 12, 2010, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. announced a recall of approximately 1,850 Acura ZDX vehicles, citing a potential problem with the deployment of the passenger side airbag.

During a manufacturing quality check, Honda discovered that some ZDX vehicles were missing certain laser-cut scoring on the underside of the dashboard surface material that is necessary for airbag deployment.

Though no incidents have been reported, Honda is recalling the vehicles so that the inside of the dashboard surface material can be inspected for the defect. Dashboards will need to be replaced if the vehicle is missing the laser-cut scoring.

Owners of vehicles affected by the recall will receive a letter in the mail later this month, and they may call 800-382-2238 or visit the Acura recall website for more information.
