				Judge Rules Against GM on Defective Ignition Switches – Allows Pursuit of Punitive Damages
A New York Federal Judge will allow the next plaintiffs to pursue punitive damages against the new GM for defective ignition switches. According to Southern District Judge Jesse Furman, the post-bankruptcy company has an obligation to warn consumers about the old GM defect according to Virginia law. Monday’s announcement stems from multi-district litigation over the defective switches.
